The talent show is held in the Drama Lecture hall giving students a chance to show off their skills; however, this year due to COVID the talent show will be virtual for the first time.
With the events that have been cancelled this year, the yearbook has been altered to fill in the empty gaps. Yearbook advisor Patrick Austinson has had to make many tough decisions getting rid of events in the yearbook.
“We’re not 100 percent sure on how the virtual talent show will be in the yearbook this year,” Austinson said. “What we were hoping to do given if we have enough room for it, we wanted to dedicate a page to the talent show where we could incorporate different videos of the various students that are participating through the use of QR codes”.
With the use of QR codes being incorporated into the yearbook for the first time this year, it allows videos to be shown with the use of a QR reader, showing special moments caught on camera.
Yearbook member Haley Jakus shows her excitement about the virtual talent show in the yearbook. “It compensates for the missed events that we used to include in the book,” Jakus said. “This way the virtual students can be included too.”
The student council is putting together a virtual talent show this year. However due to the early notice the student council does not have a clear idea of where it is fully heading yet.
“Unfortunately with us being in the beginning stages of the talent show we are unable to give out any information until next month,” said student council member Jessa Bea.
By having the talent show virtual it will allow in-person and online students to participate in the event, keeping it inclusive for all HUHS students.
