The Perc Place and Dunkin Donuts have both been fan favorites for the local community of Hartford and the visitors Hartford receives. All these visitors come to enjoy the goods that the community has to offer, although they are both places to enjoy a good warm breakfast meal or even a hot chocolate on a cold day, there are some major differences that stand out between the two places.
One of the main differences in these two restaurants is that Dunkin Donuts is a chain owned restaurant, while Perc is a family owned restaurant.
Having this major difference offers a unique setting at both places. Perc offers a more elaborate setting with a bigger area for seating up to 2-6 people at a table, making it a restaurant favored by an older crowd. Perc is a good place to visit if you have extra time and you need a quiet, friendly place to study and do homework.
Dunkin is convenient for people always on the go looking for a fast and cheap meal to eat on the road. Since the concept at Dunkin is to be in and out in roughly five minutes, they have a few booths inside seating anywhere from 2-4 people. Having these conveniences makes this fast food restaurant more suitable for teens and a younger crowd on a budget.
Since Perc Place is a sit down restaurant, the menu shows a bigger variety, offering the guests who visit breakfast, lunch and dinner. Perc Places menu offers a small selection of soups ranging from chili to different soups of the day and a small variety of appetizers, the cheapest being $6.95 and the most expensive being $11.95.
Perc even offers a separate “coffee” room where people find themselves buying a variety of flavors of either iced or hot coffees, smoothies, and hot chocolates.
Dunkin serves only breakfast items, but also serves a variety of iced or hot coffees, hot chocolates, and refreshers, but only serving breakfast makes their hours shorter than Perc.
The cheapest item on Perc Places menu is a cup of the soup of the day which is $3.50, while the cheapest item on Dunkin’s menu is a donut which is 99 cents.
Although Perc Place offers a good variety of food for anytime of the day, their coffee prices are a bit on the higher side for teenagers working a minimum wage job. The coffee at Dunkin all depend on the size, but the prices range from $2 to $5. The prices at Dunkin fit a teenagers needs better knowing money is sometimes tight and it is a fast in and out process.
