A new club for providing feedback on school lunches is being promoted to students around the school. Members will complete google forms for the food service staff and be able to have some input in the lunches.
This club will not be like any traditional club.Club members will not meet as a group but instead will respond to emails sent out to them regarding their opinions on the school lunch options.
In the past, HUHS had a School Nutrition Advisory Council for a similar purpose to the Foodies lunch program. This council met after school, which students had problems with. The online aspect of the new lunch program was developed to avoid this issue and maximize student input.
School Nutrition Supervisor Monica Glorioso started this club in hopes of receiving student feedback on new menu concepts and the taste and quality of new and existing menu items.
“I liked the idea of asking a consistent group of students in hopes of building relationships so they are comfortable giving honest feedback,” Glorioso said.
The opportunity to be a member is available to all HUHS students. In addition to the posters displayed around the school, information on this opportunity is being sent out in the morning announcement emails. Students of all grade levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
Junior Caitlyn Ermer has expressed interest in the club, and looks forward to being a part of the group.
“I feel that this sounds like a fun idea,” Ermer said. “[I am] actually kind of excited to try the food and help the high school with the lunch program.”
