School attempts to engage students safely, whilst in a pandemic, with questions about the school’s history and
culture the Tuesday of every week.
Tuesday Trivia was made by assistant principal Jeremy Lubus. Every Tuesday morning, Lubus goes to the first hour room of last week's winner. There he does the morning announcements, recognises the winner, and asks the new question, which can be emailed to his email address at jeremy.lubus@huhs.org.
In light of why he came up with the idea, he said, “As a former Baseball coach, I am naturally very competitive. I always felt that students like competition.” He also hopes this trivia will bring students closer together during this COVID era.
Despite forgetting to mention staff in the first trivia, Lubus intended on having staff compete as well. The fastest student, and staff member will be recognised. The fastest student will be rewarded.
“As far as prizes, one of them for sure will be a Hartford facemask,” Lubus said. “I am still figuring out an additional prize. It may vary depending on the time of year.”
The first winner of Tuesday Trivia was senior Josh Klink. He was able to respond within a minute of the question being asked. His first hour teacher, Brad Dzikowski, said the answer and Klink emailed his answer.
Klink received a five dollar gift card to Dunkin Donuts and a Hartford face mask.” He said he thinks it is a good idea to get students active and involved.
Lubus is new to the school and enjoys investigating HUHS for questions. He hopes that the questions encourage students to be more engaged.
